A sheet music transcription of Sketch of the Unknown by The Blasting Company. This was my first ever transcription.

Sketches of the Unknown is an EP of early songs made for Over the Garden Wall. When I first heard Sketch of the Unknown, I hadn’t seen the miniseries, but the soft, overtoned melody pulled me away. There are no words, and the only vocals are a baby’s cry throughout the song (I’d learn later through a conversation over Reddit DM that this was Joshua’s, one of the members of The Blasting Company’s, son). Today, I avoid listening to the song anymore. I get too emotional.

The day after I posted this publicly on r/OverTheGardenWall I watched the show in its entirety and fell completely head over heels in love with it. Like many others, rewatching the show on a cool day in October has become an annual ritual.
